In addition to the reduced tuition rates, a 4-year full scholarship for members is offered through FEW's Foundation for Education and Training. The application window is now open and will close in May 2009. Visit the FEW Foundation web site today at www.fewfoundation.org and click on the Scholarship link to see if you or a family member qualifies.
In November 2006, chapter members participated in a webinar introducing the concept of webinars and how to participate. The PowerPoint slide show that was presented during the webinar is available for download. Follow this link to download the slides.
The Chapter held a two-part training session on adult learning and how to get college credit for work experience, conducted by our own
Jack Kenner. Jack has graciously allowed us to post his handout materials on our site to enable more people to benefit from self-study. Some of these documents require Adobe Acrobat reader to open properly in your browser. If you do not have Adobe Acrobat installed on your computer, visit Adobe.com for ways to download it. In addition, Jack has created a web site to load even more educational material for you to access. Click on the ACECAR logo
to access the web site.
An article in The Chronicle of Higher Education, dated June 2, 2006, states, in part, "... more students than ever before are enrolling in college, total enrollment will set new records each year through 2015, and most of those new students are and will be female [emphasis added]".
